Forfar

Forfar is the county town of Angus, Scotland, dating back to the Roman occupation. It was later held by the Picts and then presented to Robert the Bruce during the Scottish Wars of Independence. Forfar has been both a traditional market town and a major manufacturing center of linen and jute. The nearby area of Strathmore boasts scenic glens often visited by nature lovers and hikers.

Lanark

Lanark is a small town rich in history located in the county of Lanarkshire in Scotland’s more populous Central Belt. It’s been a market town since medieval times when King David I of Scotland made it a Royal Burgh in 1140, thereby encouraging trade. Legend has it that William Wallace married a lass from Lanark, Marion Braidfute, and that he began his campaign for Scottish Independence in there in 1297.
